Depth Of Field Illustrated

“Distance lends enchantment to the view.”

“While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.”

“Child, you have to learn to see things in the right proportions. Learn to see great things great and small things small.”

By the by, these are photos clicked from my bedroom window

Great post VST!! I love the play of perspectives through the shift in focus. And distance does make things seem more beautiful than they might actually be. There is another proverb which says almost the same in a different fashion, "Familiarity breeds contempt" :) Lovely snaps.

@Swarnali: Making things appear "more" than what they are is what they call Hanlon's razor-Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. Familiarity does breed contempt... agreed; and distance does make the heart grow fonder!
