Left or Right BAN Seems Alright

Just have this thing to ask:

If Kovan alias Sivadas may be arrested on charges of sedition for asking to BAN tasmac, why aren't a few others who are asking for BANNING a few other things be arrested on the same charge as well?!

Didn't I hear someone say earlier that everyone is equal before the law?! If "they" can be free, then free Kovan too... If not, why not let the birds of the same feather, flock together in whites and stripes?!

One more doubt though... seems like the crowd of the mediocre, voting Indian citizen offended by what a bunch of religious fanatics belonging to a few conservative parties want to be BANNED; yet, the same crowd seem to find it acceptable when Kovan asks for the BAN of liquor under the banner of a so called 'liberal', thinking, leftist-Communist party.
Are you fellows joking?! Left or Right, ABCD or Communist, seems like the choice every citizen has is the choice to decide whether to die at the jaws of the tiger or the bear's bloody paws; either way, weather forecasts seem to predict that "we are screwed!"...

Moral of the story: Kovan or Poovan, Kuppan or Chuppan, everyone wants a ban... 'BAN' seems to be the only thing soon to be left sans a BAN. Ban India Ban...

The Three Wise Men

These are days when we look around in dismay at politics, our politicians who can't be seen separate(d) from it and the political scenario in tote; the only politicians available today, fit snugly into the definition of politics when "poly" means 'many' and "tics" means 'a blood sucking parasite'. We hardly have a chance to make any sensible choice these days in a situation where in the name of majority sensible wishes just get heaped beneath a pile of less chosen minorities. Perhaps Pareto Principle works well here according to Murphy's Law for what must go wrong, to go wrong. Yet, yester-years did see some legends whose dedicated work of selflessness has given us a political foundation strong enough on which today's wobbly structure though shaky and weak still manages to carry on. These Three Men I present are very simple people who led a simple life with high thinking and why, oh why, I wonder don't we have people like this anymore...

Ex-CM of TN, Arignar Annadurai, was known for his literary intelligence and classing it up a bit. There are umpteen stories about instances when he delivered his mettle and this is my favourite: Once a kid when offered a candy, looked at Arignar and told him as a matter of fact, "Did you know Sir, that 'sugar' is the only word in English where 'S' is pronounced as 'Shu'?! Our man turned to the kid and without missing a moment asked, "Are you 'Sure'?! smiled and walked on having made his point...
Incidentally, his funeral entered the Guinness Book of World Records for having the highest number of attendees, a 15 million plus.

A rebel, a Communist and a legend, he holds the record for being the longest serving CM from 1977 to 2000 (23 plus years) until his retirement due to ill health; Mr. Jyoti Basu, one of the most loved politician from West Bengal, like in life, a giver, mentioned that his body even after death should be useful for the nation and pledged his body for medical research.
At a time when hideous masks of people who took one Rupee as salary is revealed as we sink our heads in shame, geniuses like this, leave this world literally giving their all and much, much more and above all a legacy of a good life to talk about with pride for the rest of us for a change... Laal Salaam!

Though a school dropout owing to poverty, he became the first to introduce the 'Mid-day meal scheme' so that lakhs of children attending school may have a decent meal atleast once a day; further, he initiated the distribution of free uniforms in schools so that children may learn without any class discrimination based upon the clothes they wear. Even the IIT in the state was introduced during his reign as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Even after being a CM for 9 years he was known as an extremely simple man full of integrity; after his death in 1975, all that he left behind was 130 rupees, 2 pairs of sandals, 4 shirts, 4 dhotis and a collection of books; yet, he has a a road in Chennai and another in Bangalore, the domestic airport in Chennai and an university in Madurai named after him; he was also awarded the Bharath Ratna in 1976. It is both refreshing and a delight to know that the people of my place (Nagercoil) voted him to power in their constituency during his last tenure; Mr. Kumarasami Kamaraj a.k.a the King-maker, will stand undefeated if he stands an election even today and will always remain victorious in our hearts...

A Spiritual Communist

'What is the point in believing in God?' 'How can one claim to be rationale and yet believe in the most absurd abstract ever created?' 'Why waste time on God when it may be better used to create your own destiny?' People ask...

Well, as for me, without God and faith-my own, personal sans exhibition-it would be too hard for me to forgive people who have been unjust, erred and have saddened me deep-at times so deep that normally, without that God who taught me to forgive, who helps me to forget and pray for the goodness, well being and blessings of wonders and wonderful life for them who saddened me, I would have ended up miserable and bitter, swearing, cursing and violently abusing the people and the world around me most of the time.

Today instead, though ridiculously irrational, absurd and abstract, the time invested in the goodness of God in absolute faith, has created a destiny for me to live alongside others who I cease to hate nor destroy yet never cease to love unconditionally like my God ever would... eventually its a choice between a natural hater or a nurtured lover, a choice between evil and good and an ultimate choice between violence and peace. Though I cross and fall off the line of goodness in this dreadful path of life and people I tread, (ever so many times), it is this God that puts me back in track and helps me continue with courage and peace, nudging me to take the higher road (unsurprized to see many walking besides) and rest in a destiny chosen for me... "Why then should I not be a wandering vagabond treading towards this destiny?!" "Afterall, if Communism is about sharing, equality, justice and to ensure a peaceful coexistence bearing one another, what else is God then?!" I ask... hahaha... Lifes Good... and better still with an unconditional God rising above a conditional ideology...

A mail to say its o.k...

Dear Commissioner,

Hope that this mail of mine finds you well. Was caught in a turmoil of conclaves, colloquiums and conferences where i had to render the key-note address from the Development Sector; hence the delay in responding.

Hope you are aware of the 'stun in awe' syndrome that affects people when they come across something as beautiful as what you had sent. w.r.t the opinion poll factor, legend goes that it is very difficult for mediocre files to pass the Commissioner's table... been there to vouch for it too. To prove the legend yet again, this ppt. that has come just off your table, is an ensemble of fine theoritical aspects that cry for the utopian (as if that is too much to ask for) that leans to strike a chord at the apathetic and ignorant crowd.

Sometimes, we wonder in distress if the noise of the silent cry of the victimized and vulnerable is too hard for people to hear... is it so feeble that the doors at which empathy is begged for seldom opens and permanently remains shut?! A paradox where the struggle to connect to the heart has to surpass the mind's acceptance. The appeal is often made to the mind to reach the heart. A far more unreachable connect is the attempt to connect to the soul which we govern not speak any more. Its a lost world! And proudly lost too. Its people like you, the phoenix type, who destroy yourself to ressurect the dead (irony that the imp speaks of these during Easter).

The attempts that I made ever since I saw the slides open was to bring in more crowd to peep into my laptop... however, some lost interest in between the slides and some just stayed for my sake (just that they did not want to offend me by moving away unlike their less faking counterparts) yet some stayed glued, stuck to every word, image and numbers that flowed... these are my fellow "Develop'mental' workers and the amateur crowd". Nevertheless, rather than worry why it did not bother people, the shift was towards what bothered some. Learnt that the faint sign of hope in the utopian still remains in a few who stayed and wanted to work together than criticize, complain and crib. 'If change is expected, be the change' being the mantra. Deep inside, the devil's advocate professes that to help the children on the street care be taken that in a lusty haste don't forego your very own needs and cummulate with them in their own grounds on the streets. Some hands are helplessly bound in a trail of survival; the luxury to do what the heart wants to still being a lust perceived like a mirage in a distance.

A slide towards the end screamed for a change in the system and the "system" that needed a change can be interpreted in too many different ways for which I had to rely upon my friend Lenin (the Revolutionist) for support... 'Begin from the beginning' He said and so rightly said. So thus followed a lecture for the wilfully staggering crowd on primitive Communism where boundaries were erazed and it support rendered not to one's ability yet to one's need. Hope this band wagon that is slowly yet steadily rising string itself well and overcome the issues a.s.a.p... we shall overcome someday!

Will be in touch,

Fredjeev
