A Daily Dose of Love

 "रांड सांड सीढ़ी सन्यासी इनसे बचे सो आये कासी"
(Raand, Sand, Seedi, Sanyasi - Inse Bache So Aye Kashi)

- Kabir :)

'The four' Kabir asks every thinking, sensible and rationale man to detach himself from to move towards 'Kashi'.

Makes sense when you see them to be the forecasted encounters every man will find enroute to 'Kashi'. Those temptations that will test a man's virtue, intellect, courage and wisdom before being considered worthy of reaching 'Kashi'. Kabir reminds us to be saved from the scripts and games of these unpredictable four if one wants to be single-minded in attention, focus and concentration to reach 'Kashi'.

But, what is there in 'Kashi' upon reaching there(?) What's in store in the literal as well as figurative Kashi(?) A bunch of lost souls who got in there, landed there, found their way there... or perhaps the enlightened lot who will not speak and would rely on everyone to find their own way - waiting to blame it on destiny if one finds and if one doesn't/cannot too. So we have a bunch of disconnected people who have walked past dangers and temptations and know that each person's journey is unique and cannot be replicated. There would be those who would have found the meaning of life in the meaningless nothingness of nirvana. So basically there is nothing. So what is the point of going to Kashi(?)

The fun I think is in the journey rather than the destination. If we focus on the journey, we miss the destination and vice versa. Isn't it(?)

Isn't human life about being there and fighting through strife(?) The identity of a human being (the answer to the basic question, 'Who are you(?)') does not lie in our our name, age, gender, position or any other silly societal given's - that would be too lame even if we agree to it with the slightest expectation. Our existence lies in our action - in what we do. In the verb and not in the noun, adjective or compliment. We are not who we say we are; rather, our actions explain who we are - even without saying a word. Words fool while the truth lies in silence.

In our search for rest, calmness and a piece of peace within the facade of life and its briefings, we miss the beauty of chaos and the adventure of moving through it. The test of virility is not in choosing to be impotent.

A Spiritual Communist

'What is the point in believing in God?' 'How can one claim to be rationale and yet believe in the most absurd abstract ever created?' 'Why waste time on God when it may be better used to create your own destiny?' People ask...

Well, as for me, without God and faith-my own, personal sans exhibition-it would be too hard for me to forgive people who have been unjust, erred and have saddened me deep-at times so deep that normally, without that God who taught me to forgive, who helps me to forget and pray for the goodness, well being and blessings of wonders and wonderful life for them who saddened me, I would have ended up miserable and bitter, swearing, cursing and violently abusing the people and the world around me most of the time.

Today instead, though ridiculously irrational, absurd and abstract, the time invested in the goodness of God in absolute faith, has created a destiny for me to live alongside others who I cease to hate nor destroy yet never cease to love unconditionally like my God ever would... eventually its a choice between a natural hater or a nurtured lover, a choice between evil and good and an ultimate choice between violence and peace. Though I cross and fall off the line of goodness in this dreadful path of life and people I tread, (ever so many times), it is this God that puts me back in track and helps me continue with courage and peace, nudging me to take the higher road (unsurprized to see many walking besides) and rest in a destiny chosen for me... "Why then should I not be a wandering vagabond treading towards this destiny?!" "Afterall, if Communism is about sharing, equality, justice and to ensure a peaceful coexistence bearing one another, what else is God then?!" I ask... hahaha... Lifes Good... and better still with an unconditional God rising above a conditional ideology...

Who Decides How Good You Are

Why does anyone need someone to recommend how good another person is? I have seen people uninterestingly ask, "Are you religious? Which place of worship do you go to? Who is the priest there? Can you recite a verse? Can you say a prayer? Can you sing a song? Can you sing a song and dance along?... blah! blah! blah!" Very few are able to digest the fact that one can lead a spiritual life-far above anyone can ever imagine, have a personal relationship with the good one above and still manage to stay off the madenning crowd of religious fanatics and misleading clowns in cloaks and find liberty sans getting shut in conditional boxes and be threatened with guilt if anyone begs to differ.
Can values be tested and marked? Can we say how honest a Man is? Today, institutions (both religious as well as academic) think they can. Probably an essay competition can be held on 'honesty' and the best essay may be handpicked by the priest/teacher and the bishop or headmaster who heads the institution may give a big trophy for the one who wrote it and the audience may be enthralled and applaud and may consider "that someone" who receives the trophy as the most honest in the crowd indeed... yet I ask, "What if no one knew that the whole essay was actually written with a stolen pen except he who wrote??? Would he who wrote the best still be considered honest by the rest?! Who would know except him how "honest" he really is?"
Spirituality stands tall then, rising far above religion, by being good not for someone else or for others to see yet for oneself even when no one is watching. This being the difference of being good from within for oneself than to covet and pretend to be good for others on the outside. So how spiritual are we really to ourselves?!

pic: this was a photograph I clicked in Bangalore of a temple priest getting ready to do something he thinks only he can do-get people married.
